HANG ON! (Twin Flames)

about

"HANG ON! (Twin Flames)" is the brand new single from Mark Steiner & His Problems (N/USA/UK/CZ)

This is the first new song from Mark Steiner & His Problems since before the pandemic, and is the featured track from the upcoming LP "Black Hole."

The lyrics to this new song are focused on personal discovery, dreams, disappointments, reconstruction and hope.

Ex-New Yorker and Norwegian-American artist Mark Steiner first discovered Norwegian singer Ingunn Holmen during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the two have since then embarked on a new musical project along with a tour of Europe. Ingunn has since then also become one of Mark's "Problems," along with the rest of his Oslo-based band which includes legendary drummer Ted Parsons (Prong, eks-Swans, Godflesh, Killing Joke), bassist Leon Muraglia (Radio 9, Salvatore, OMD) and guitarist Romek Paluch-Edwards. Czech violinist Pavel Cingl has also contributed his distinct sonic abilities to this song.

A music video - which we describe as a short film - directed by filmmaker Jean De Oliveira, was shot on location in Norway in October 2023 to coincide with the release of the single.

lyrics

TWIN FLAMES (HANG ON NOW)
Lyrics by Mark Steiner

Did you see my fire as we were going down
Felt like we were flying ‘til we hit the ground
I could see your fire, recognized your flame
And I could feel your heat - you could feel my shame
‘Cause I’ve been waiting for reasons
For too long, for so long
And you’ve been waiting for reasons
Of your own, for too long, so long, so long

Hang on tight now, hold on tight now to me
Hang on tight now - Let’s hit the stars

Stepped into my car so I let you drive
With you behind the wheel we both felt so alive
We drove into the dark dancing soul to soul
Destination unknown until we lost control
Well you’ve been waiting for reasons
For too long, for so long
And I’ve been waiting for reasons
Of my own, for too long

Hang on tight now, hold on tight now to me
Hang on tight now - We’re both on fire

We both survived the crash and we made our amends
Let’s leave that wreck behind and hit the road again
Keep your fire burning - we can drive your car
Hang on tight now - let’s hit the stars
We’ve been waiting for reasons
For too long, for so long, for too long
We’ve waited for no reasons or our own for too long, for so long
Hang on tight now, hold on tight now to me
Hang on tight now - We’re both on fire
Hang on tight now, hold on tight now to me
Stay the night now - Let’s hit the stars

about

Mark Steiner & His Problems Oslo, Norway

Mark Steiner is a well-known figure in Oslo’s music underworld, and he’s been around in Norway for so long that many assume that he is Norwegian. He is not. This ex-New Yorker is a wandering scoundrel who one might find hanging out in the shadowy corners of a pub at closing time. A international musical vagrant who might walk the streets with Stuart Staples, Nick Cave, and Rowland S. Howard... ... more
